GW16 Review

Team of the Week

Let’s be pleasant for once and give it to the guy currently enjoying his Honeymoon with his lovely new(ish) bride, Mr Niall Brophy. The VV’s posted a lovely score of 48 to see of a very resilient Mary FC who for large portions of the match looked like he was going to steal this one. Alas it was not to be with a late flurry from Udogie. Not the biggest spread of points this week with Robinson 6, Udogie 9, Salah 13 and Silva 9 pumping up the valium but the how’s and why’s don’t really matter most of the time. Great stuff though for this guy who is hopefully flying high this week especially after an uncharacteristic run of 3 losses, some may even say this win was Destiny……..(I wrote this before Martboy made the same joke in the thread. Dick move Mary)

Match of the Week

For the second Game Round in a row the Old Boys Derby takes this spot in the weekly award ceremony. 1 point separated the two going into the Spuds Newcastle game and with both teams having a single player left to play this very much felt like the money tie and Rudi was a very clear favourite considering the players left but just like most of the season this game was bonkers. Spuds somehow run out 4-1 winners and even though neither teams player did a thing that ended being more damaging for Rudi than Warren. 4 goals conceded, a -1 for Tripps and Wally took the W. Good entertainment lads and Wally leads 2-0 in the series.

Player of the Week

Ups and Downs gives Ed marching boy frowns. Son arrested his recent slump with a brutal 17 points near on doubling Chris’ score from his other 10 players. A goal and 2 assists alongside the customary 3bps that go with such a haul was enough to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat and to wind Ed up because I know he wouldn’t have taken that well.

Chump of the Week

Things 1st pick shouldn’t be. Scoring 20pts in a GW, losing to 7th pick, 7th in the League, playing Wood, being a one man team and wishing the season was over during GW16. Unfortunately these are also all things Dev currently is. Proper shite from our 1st pick this week especially as he played a team so woefully out of form and stripped of options due to injuries/twats/sold players who only scored 25pts themselves. Mykolenko was the only player to not score 2 and under and his 7 really saved Dev from the ignominy of a low teen score. This is very much shaping up to be the worst 1st pick in FFY History.

Dawkins of the Week

Bueno. Not the masc version of last weeks Dawkins nor the delicious little chocolate treat. No idea who he is or how ‘bueno’ he is but the lad with the good name is this weeks Dawkins. I’m not writing anymore about him because it’s week 16 and there still seems to be a player each week I don’t know and it’s fucking annoying.

Team of the Week Can only be Clarkey really right? Ed oh so nearly broke the 100 mark with a ludicrous score of 98 which actually might be the highest ever, I know we’ve had 97 before but 98? Have we

Team of the Week Like a bat out of hell Chrishy stormed in the team of the week spot with an absolute haul from Palmer during the last game of the GW. Not only is 68pts an impressive score but he also
