Team of the Week
Guess who’s back, back again? Shaboom is back, tell a friend……2 weeks on the bounce for 7th pick TSFC as top dog of the GW. 4 teams scored over 50 which would normally mean I can pivot and not give it to the same team in consecutive weeks but TSFC saw that 50 and said nah let’s score over 60. 65pts saw off a fairly valiant attempt from Mary this week with Areola (13), Foden (15), Gordon (8) and Rice (8) doing most of the heavy lifting. This team is really flying at the moment with a midfield that is just forever involved in goal contributions. Let’s celebrate it whilst it lasts because it feels like a real rich purple patch more than a well put together squad. Special mentions to Dev (58), Ed (53) and Broph (53) who all scored very well……just not well enough.
Player of the Week
Young Philip Foden takes top spot this week with 15pts. Kid really is on fire and looking like a shoe in for player of the season. Interestingly this makes it 4 times out of the last 5 that the highest scorer has come from TSFC. Yeah I’m s’ing my d…..someone one has to.
Match of the Week
To be honest there really wasn’t one this week with the top 5 seeing off the bottom 5 very comfortably. Only Mary put up any sort of fight and he still finished 21pts behind his opponent. Actual football wise nothing really grabs either, all very standard.
Chump of the Week
Unfortunately there can only be one team, one man, one record that deserves it’s place here and in fact I’m going to rename this Chump of the Game Round……hi Rudi. Rudi’s loss to Niall completed the set, 9 losses on the trot and most importantly this was not just 9 consecutive losses but 9 consecutive losses from Game 1 of GR3 to Game 9 of GR3. This double title defence could not have gone worse with words like ‘limp’, ‘pathetic’ and ‘found out’ being bandied about round the water cooler. Can Rudi save some face in GR4 or is this complete and utter failure of a title defence destined for another title at the wrong end of the table. The King is dead, long live the Chicken!
Dawkins of the Week
#welcomebenson. I got nothing, maybe something Hedges but I can’t even be bothered with that. You boys never fail to deliver, GW27 and Ed manages to play someone I have genuinely never heard of before. The best bit is Ed thought Chrish was such a push over that he rolled out lads who need appearances and to be honest he was right. 1 pt for Benson and a win by 21pts for Ed.
